Starting to Document Another Crusade

Ed Hochuli was the center of controversy early this season after he publicly admitted to a mistake that may have cost the San Diego Chargers a game.  This story was well covered in most of the sports media, but seeing no further reason to continue they've all let the story fade away.

Not ProFootballTalk though.  Florio posts weekly about every single possible mistake Hochuli might make.  This week was no different.

The problem is that these "mistakes" were quite innocuous.  Every game has mistakes from referees.  In fact the NFL head of officiating, Mike Perreira, has publicly stated that referees make the right call 97% of the time.  That leaves 3% and demonstrates that it is acknowledged by everyone involved that mistakes will be made.

Does Mike Florio  point out every mistake made in every game?  Does he even focus on referee performance of any other crew?  No.  He's on a crusade against Hochuli, and it's pathetic.
